In 2014, I received my B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Two and a half years later, I also obtained my master’s degree at the Tu/e. During my master’s program, I did a short exchange program at the UC Santa Barbara, in the group of Craig Hawker. Subsequently, I did my graduation project in the group of Bert Meijer. This project focused on the synthesis and self-assembly of monodisperse block co-oligomers consisting of a dimethylsiloxane and a crystalline (D)- or (L)-lactic acid block. After an internship at a chemical/pharmaceutical company called ChemConnection in Oss, I obtained my master’s degree and started my PhD in the group of Bert Meijer in March 2017. I am still interested in the crystallization versus self-assembly behavior of semicrystalline block co-oligomers. Hence, I will continue on this topic during my PhD and aim to organize crystalline pi-conjugated systems with the help of a oligodimethylsiloxane block. In this way, we hope to get perfect organization in 2D and create semi-conducting monolayer sheets.
