I received my B.Sc. from the Hogeschool Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in chemistry after doing a graduation project with prof. dr. Bert Meijer and an internship at the Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa with Prof. Comfort Mduduzi Nkambule. During my bachelor graduation project I focused on the synthesis of peptide functionalized dendrimers, which can be used to study the clustering behavior on supramolecular polymers. After doing my pre-masters, I started my master in Biomedical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I performed my master graduation project at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering in the USA with Prof. William Shih where I studied the controlled multimerization of DNA origami molecules. After doing an internship at the TU/e working on biomaterials, I started with my PhD in October 2014 on the same topic. My aim is to mimic the extracellular matrix with biofunctionalized supramolecular polymers for the expansion of stem cells.
