At the start of my career around 1993,  I worked for “TOC BV” on  a project basis for external companies. This was followed by a position as supporting staff at the group of Bert Meijer. I got experienced in diverse organic chemistry fields like syntheses of  Ureidopyrimidone, BTA molecules, and functionalisation of dendrimers.

Recently I developed a synthetic procedure for obtaining large amounts of long oligo-dimethyl siloxanes up to 59 silicon atoms. This work was awarded with “het langste monodispers siloxaan ter wereld” award, on 11 March 2016, Eindhoven.

On a daily basis, I’m helping others with synthetic challenges. I maintain and give instructions for equipment in the group. For example the Mbraun SPS 800 solvent purification system, Parr hydrogenation equipment (shaker type, and high pressure mechanical stirred reactor), Biotage Isolera and Grace Reveleris X2 automated column systems.
