In 2009 I started as undergraduate in Industrial and Engineering Chemistry at the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. Starting from general courses I followed the route towards the organic and supramolecular chemistry. Throughout the course I participated in multiple research projects at the University of Southampton (UK), UPMC (Paris VI, France) and University of Surrey (Guildford, UK). After graduation in 2014, I joined the team of Selvita, Krakow, Poland, where I worked as a synthesis specialist in the Department of Contract Chemistry. The latter one was essentially an invaluable lesson of making chemistry real and clarifying my own goals. This brought me eventually to come over to Meijer Group in September 2015.
My PhD project is focused on the control of the supramolecular chirality via weak non-covalent interactions, where superior role is played by stereoselective interactions between supramolecular polymers and solvent molecules. Thereby pathway complexity can be precisely controlled with small molecules such as monomers or cosolvents. Finally, precisely controlled chiral structures will be deposited on the surfaces.
