In 2017, I received my BSc. degree in Chemical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology after a final bachelor’s project in the group of prof. dr. Remco Tuinier under supervision of dr. Catarina Esteves. During this project I focused on controlling the self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers using water / ethanol mixtures and on the encapsulation of hydrophobic ingredients in the self-assembled structures. In 2019, I rejoined the group of prof. dr. Remco Tuinier under supervision of dr. Catarina Esteves for my graduation project, which focused on the synthesis of low friction polyether-urethane coatings, characterization of their long-term stability in different immersion media (air, nitrogen, water), and characterization of the (change in) lubricious properties upon surface damage. I then did an internship at BYK-Chemie GmbH in Wesel, Germany, where I worked on testing catalysts for the polymerization of methacrylate monomer mixtures. After obtaining my MSc. degree in September 2019, I started as a PhD student in January 2020 in the group of prof. dr. Bert Meijer studying single-chain polymeric nanoparticles under supervision of prof. dr. Anja Palmans.
