I studied chemistry at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg, where I obtained my bachelor`s degree (2012) with Prof. G. Helmchen on the enantioselective total synthesis of (-)-indolizidine 209D and my master`s degree (2014) with Prof. A. S. K. Hashmi on bidirectional gold-catalysis. During my studies, I spent three months in the labs of Prof. J.-E. Bäckvall at Stockholm university, where I applied chemoenzymatic dynamic kinetic resolution in the total synthesis of natural products. In 2015, I moved to ETH Zürich for my PhD with Prof. H. Wennemers where I focused on the development of peptidic catalysts for stereoselective synthesis. In January 2020, I joined the team of Prof. E. W. Meijer as a postdoctoral researcher to develop new strategies for the combined covalent/non-covalent synthesis of supramolecular polymer-based systems. In October 2021, I was appointed as a Lecturer for Organic Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology. My research focusses on catalytically active peptide systems that mimic features of life.
