After graduating from St. Stephens' College, Delhi University, I received a post-graduate diploma in material science from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR, IN) in 2015, where I worked on amphiphilic and foldameric design strategies for charge transfer assemblies. In 2016 I joined the group of Dr. Enrico Dalcanale at the University of Parma (IT) for a PhD, conducted jointly with Dr. Susan Bourne at the University of Cape Town (SA). I obtained a doctorate in 2020 for my thesis entitled "Study of ternary complexes of cucurbit[8]uril and their applications in self-diagnostic composites". Following a brief stint in Scientific editing, I joined the group of Dr. KR Mahendran at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology in September 2021 where I studied the electrical and functional properties of synthetic alpha-helical peptide pores to tune their functionality as better nanopore sensors. In June 2023, I joined the group of Prof. Bert Meijer and the subgroup of Assistant Prof. Ghislaine Vantomme as a postdoctoral researcher. I work closely with the group of Assistant Prof. Danqing Liu towards designing liquid-crystal based materials with tunable self-assembly for applications in artificial neural systems.
